RV Means More Than Recreational Vehicle

Most people typically think of motor homes when they imagine recreational vehicles. For the most part, this is a true assumption. With a few different classes of motor homes, and so many on the road, these rolling vacations make up the majority of recreational vehicles. Finding the one the right size with the desired features is a matter of shopping around.
Driving down the interstate, you are bound to see a huge RV clearance lot along the side of the road in every major city in America. It seems that they have sprung up everywhere, with their matching billboard signs and obnoxious TV commercials. It makes one wonder, are people flipping motor homes like they are real estate these days? Does someone who heads out from Phoenix to Yosemite in their 50-foot coach suddenly get the urge to upgrade on the way? It makes for an interesting scene.

One step up is the Class C RV. These are a bit bigger, but still not the huge size of a long bus or coach. The Class C RV looks similar to a box or cargo truck, but with all the niceties of a motor home. These have a cab which is exterior to the dwelling part. They may have a small connector door between the driver and the home, but this is not commonly traversed during driving. The living quarters can be quite luxurious, with full kitchens, bathrooms and ample berthing. These sometimes have a pull-out for extra bedroom space when parked.
Class A RVs are the big daddies. These are the country and rock star tour buses. They are self-contained houses on wheels. They are mobile mansions. The good thing about Class A motor homes is that they drop in value very quickly. You can pick up one used far below retail price because so many people buy one on a lark and then later have buyer’s remorse. You can take your time finding a bargain with one of these.
