A drill is used to create holes in hard surfaces and ease the screwdriver's stress while screwing a bolt.
You can use the following techniques to drill holes if you don't have a drill at hand.
1. For drilling holes into plastic:
For drilling holes into a plastic surface, you need to heat a piece of copper and place it on the surface to drill the hole. Let the copper piece melt the plastic into a hole. You can find it at any local hardware shop.
2. Make yourself a bow drill:
In this method, you need two wooden sticks. Tie a piece of string on both sides of one stick to be used like a bow. Sharpen one side of the second stick, and it should have a handle on the other side. Make a small hole in the place where you want to drill. Place the second stick on that point and apply pressure to drill a hole. Place the bow on the drill bit and apply pressure.
3. Brace and bit:
If you need to drill a large hole, a brace can help you in this situation. You need to apply pressure on the brace by placing it in the drilling position while rotating the bit. This way, you can get a fine hole.
4. Self-drilling screws:
You can use a self-drilling screw and save a lot of time while drilling a hole when you don't have a drill. You can use a standard screwdriver which can be easily purchased at a local hardware shop.
