One of the best things about GasBuddy is that it can find me once I am in my city or a new city. But suppose I want to see the gas prices elsewhere, for example, at my mother's residence? How do I search based on a town name and no longer on my GPS?

You can search either utilizing a smartphone's GPS, or you may use the city name or zip code. Also, there is map available in the app to find out fuel prices ahead on the road.

2. Using GasBuddy Points

You can earn GasBuddy points by commenting on the forums and posting gas prices on the app. Now, what to do with those points?

The points can be stored or redeemed for 'raffle tickets in the weekly drawing for a $250 fuel card. Every 1,000 points can be exchanged for one price ticket in the weekly drawing. Once points are redeemed for tickets, they may be used.

3. How Are Listings Generated?

Does GasBuddy have affiliations with fuel companies that might put those companies at the top of the listing, or are the listings simply consumer-generated?

A great majority of the gasoline prices come from spotters, but they also get feeds of gasoline prices from gasoline stations. However, listings are looked after solely by the cost per gallon.

4. Changing the App
